I understood her issues with racing as far as losing a loved one goes but she just represented everything I hate in a character: Someone who can’t make up their mind about what they want. I also don’t appreciate that with this bad boy status comes the sense of entitlement to any girl they want. Can’t the men in new adult not be man whores for once? I’m pretty sure it appeals to a lot of readers (would you look at that 4.26 rating!) but as someone who is not a rookie to the new adult scene, it’s just getting old.
However, what I did get tired of seeing was the play boy, love ’em and leave ’em trope. I really appreciated the racing aspect of this book especially since most male protagonists in new adult are either businessmen, in a band or tattoo artists (seriously). Cocky, overconfident and just a tad bit swoon worthy! He’s been burned before and that’s why he refuses to settle down with just anyone.
